Double Crumble
Hardly Working

Conditions: small, shitty

wind: lots

On Saturday, Jasmine and Savannah had the pleasure of getting to work together at surf class. Needless to say, no one learned anything productive about surfing, but the instructors had the time of their lives. During the first class they stalled on the beach and ate candy and almond butter with Chillbrose. When the finally wandered into the cold water they sat like ducks on the outside while participants were being crushed by the tiny whitewater waves (They did not paddle very hard). During the second class, Jasmine and Savannah completely neglected the participants while they attempted to tandem surf on a soft top. A lot of what went on was mildly successful tandem paddling, and swimming… and stepping on slimy unidentified sea creatures. However, they were able to semi-accomplish their goal of standing up. It didn’t really look like this at all:

Spotted: Jasmine’s water TA

No where to be found: Ambrose- he went on a paddle personal challenge

Lets have a moment of silence for Jasmine’s wet suit, which has officially bit the dust.

Too Cool for Scripps

After class on Saturday, Savannah and I ventured to the shores of Blacks. The sun was out and the waves were playful. Our friend Alex came with us to surf the South Peak. Now that Savannah and I are a little more mature, we have the capability of making friends.

We met some friends in the water. They pretended not to know us though as we suck at surfing and they are quite the opposite. Some other boys that we knew fairly well also met us out in the water.

Savannah was causing some damage while Jasmine was not catching anything at all. It was a very frustrating day for little Jasmine and she wants to surf every day this week to make up for the awful performance on Saturday.

Hard Work, Little Surf and Less Play

It has actually been a year since bacon bitzzz has posted. Savannah and I have been surfing together less and school has gotten a lot harder. When we have surfed, we have taken adventures to the likes of Ocean Beach pier and the north side of Scripps Pier.

I miss surfing with Savannah. At the beginning of the year we were going consistently, probably 3 or 4 times a week. Now, its maybe once a week. Organic Chemistry has been warping our minds and our souls.

We both have two of the same jobs but also hold a third (sometimes 4th). We have been trying to get paper but we keep spending it pretending we’re high rollers. Spring break is fast approaching and we have yet to plan any sort of adventure.

We’ll keep you updated.

Maybe we’ll go surfing on Friday.

Surf news: Savannah purchased a new friend in which she is causin it.

Ocean Beach Pier

March 10th
First, we would like to say sorry to our many adoring fans for the extended hiatus. No but really, we will do better. We’ve been surfin’ the surf and livin’ the life… you know, the usual. Most notable sessions:
The time we basically got owned by a HUGE wave that came out of no where- It was super high tide and we were really far out and then all of a sudden this monster comes through. We panic and start paddling like our life depends on it, but neither of us make it. Jasmine bails and dives under, and Savannah turns turtle. Jasmine gets dragged along the bottom and worries about hitting a sea creature. Savannah looses her board and tumbles around like a maniac. Water is very dark. Both swim around underwater completely disoriented. Jasmine finds something to hold on to- Savannah’s ankle- and clutches for dear life. Both break the surface. Laughter ensues. we struggle so much
The time we were the only two people out, because it was completely flat- yeah we went out anyway. it was a rare afternoon session. Surfed the shorebreak. literally 6 inches high. Still fun, even though we looked like bumbling fools.
And now we come to TODAY!- Jasmine stays up all night in CLICS, calls Savannah at 6 am. Savannah answers phone, but can’t make coherent sentences -we meet at bus stop. Surf was slow today, 2-3 feet, rollers. We caught a few, but were pretty happy to be out since its finals time (grrrrr), and its a beautiful day! Savannah tried to go right as a goofy, instead of just switching her leash, and had moderate success. Jasmine paddled like a beast on Enrique and caught some good ones. Last 15 min we switched boards. Jasmine kicked butt on Murphs, and got some really long rides. Savannah caught some with little Enrique, and stood up twice, then immediately face planted. Pride. Currently Savannah is studying chem and Jasmine is passed out in her bed- typical.
Spotted: no wetsuit guy hanging 10
Mexico countdown: 10 DAYS! (but this might be our last session until then… oh well STILL STOKED)

Sleeping Under the Stairs - Jan 27th

Waves: small, 3 ft at best. closeout
Tide: low. boo.
animal sightings: none
people sightings: engineering professor and cute guy who thinks we smoke crack
crowds: very few

Jasmine: caught few waves. did not get the memo about the party waves because she missed them all or was fashionably late or just didnt show up. thats it.

Savannah: caught nice waves. looked like a beast. was the only one who attended the parties because Jasmine is a flake.

Had a ten minute power nap on the beach. It was cold. Future plans to sleep on beach for a night have been discussed. It’s going to happen. We found a cute guy sleeping under the stairs in a sleeping bag. He built him self a little wall of sand around him. He is definitely a PhD. I would never think of something that smart. Did not notice him until we started yelling about nothing.

Past events that we have failed to record:
Jasmine stole Savannah’s toothpaste for kids.
Jasmine found her swimsuit in the middle of Muir parking lot. quality
Savannah attended a party gone sour. It appeared as though she had jumped off a cliff. Jasmine tried not laugh, but could not help it. Savannah went over the falls, and had been washing machined three times. It was class.

Quote: “That was a party that you did NOT want to attend”

Jan 25th

a dolphin who believes that they were born in the wrong body.

Waves: small, closeout
Tide: LOW
Animal sightings: clusterfuck of dolphins (around 10)
People sightings: engineer professor, really good ripper who’s 12

Jasmine: DOLPHINS!!! lots of dolphins. Jasmine got scared because the dolphins were REEEEEEEEEEEALLY close and swam underneath her very quickly. Caught very very few waves because I forgot how to surf over the course of a week. Began to remember again. Logistics went well today. No running to bus stop required.

Savannah: Had logistical diffculties today in the stairwell, bus and yeah. Caught some nice waves and dropped in and went down the line like a boss. Wooping with glee. Was amused by dolphins. Got excited because didn’t have to show bus driver ID.

Quotes of the day/weekend: “ne nar ne nar ne nar”
